Sixes is an unincorporated Cherokee County community about three miles west of Holly Springs, out toward the eastern shore of Lake Allatoona. It's got real history — the preserved Sixes Mill was originally built around 1820 by early gold prospectors during Georgia's gold-rush era and rebuilt around 1880, and the old Sixes Gold Mine site nearby is part of that same story. Today it's grown into a suburban community with a number of large, newer residential neighborhoods.
